廃校となった小学校の教室を、暗幕で覆い、窓に小さなピンホールを開けてカメラ・オブスキュラ（暗箱）と化した空間。教室全体が巨大なピンホールカメラとなり、外の風景が天地左右反転して室内に映し出されます。夜になると、星が流れ、静寂の中で人の輪郭が溶け出すような幻想的な空間が広がります。この作品は、固定された視点から時間の流れと変化を観察する「定点観測」として、日常の中に潜む非日常を浮かび上がらせます。
本作は、福岡県みやま市の旧上庄小学校を舞台にしたアーティスト・イン・レジデンス「旧上庄小レジデンスプログラム2024」の一環として制作されました。地域の歴史や風景、人々との交流を通じて、過去と現在、そして未来をつなぐ試みとなっています。
In an abandoned elementary school classroom, transformed into a darkened black box, a single small pinhole is opened in the window, creating a camera obscura. This space becomes a handmade spacecraft, where the outside world is projected upside down and reversed onto the interior surfaces. At night, stars occasionally streak across the ceiling, and solitary figures dissolve into the darkness, their outlines gently flowing away.
This installation serves as a fixed-point observation, capturing the subtle interplay between light and shadow, presence and absence, and the passage of time within a space that blurs the boundaries between reality and illusion.
The work was created as part of the "Kyū Kamishō Elementary School Residence Program 2024" in Miyama City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan.
